Just when you think you've hit a brick wall and can't find a way around it, life throws you... well, throws you over it.

My lack of motivation for school has abruptly ended since I found out I will be graduating on May 1st, opposed to in the summer. I have been discussing my Specs Howard credit situation with my adviser for two years now, and nothing had been done. I was told I would get a max. of 6 credits transferred to apply to some communication elective credits. The situation was just recently resolved, and as it turns out, I'm getting a whopping 15 credits, which sets me ahead an entire semester. Now I just need to get a walk-in appointment with my Arts & Sciences adviser so he can work on my audit. I'm praying that everything works out and I can be on track. I am now BEHIND as a senior since I had no warning of being done so quickly! I am going to hope for the best and work my butt off to make sure everything is completed on time.

I'm also hoping to intern again this summer. I know how tough it is out there, and I also realize that I could always use more experience in the field of production. I don't just want to be an average university graduate walking into a new job, I want to be amazing at what I do. I am so excited to put myself out there and be a complete sponge to anyone who wants to share their knowledge. The place I interned at in 2006 has a new branch for specifically post-production and I would love to go back and work for them again.

In other news, I recently had a hair appointment with Lindsay and told her I was thinking about going darker.. so I made an impulsive decision and got it dyed reddish/dark brown and I'm loving it so far. My family was a bit shocked at first because "I'm a blonde girl" but I needed a change. =]

Mid-Autumn Update

Life has been so stressful these past few weeks. This is by far my most difficult semester at school ever. It's crazy what we do to ourselves just to get through school. Last week was midterms, this week starts my new job at Big Deal's Sports Bar, and I'm trying to juggle homework, studying, video editing, and maintaining relationships all at the same time.

I can't believe it's already November! Before you know it, it's going to be Thanksgiving.. and then Christmas right after. Looking forward to breaks from school to be with family, but not looking forward to the weather West Michigan is doomed to have.

Josh's parents left this morning to move to Los Angeles. It's crazy. Now Josh has the house to himself. If you're reading this, please say a prayer for his dad to get a job that he enjoys out west.

Last weekend was kind of "blah" as far as Halloween festivities. I stayed in Kalamazoo Thursday night, but came home Muskegon Friday afternoon. I had a lot of fun on Thursday. Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Katie and I went to Monaco Bay so that we could have a place to wear our costumes that we threw together last minute. We also hung out with some friends and played catch-phrase and card games.

Lastly, our family has received some horrible news this past week. My cousin's husband has a rare brain tumor, and they are still waiting on a for-sure prognosis. They say he has anywhere from 3-8 years, and they have two beautiful, amazing little twin boys. PLEASE, if you could, send some positive thoughts or auras their way to keep their hearts uplifted. We are all pulling for him.

I hope you all had a fabulous Halloween. Looking forward to the Holidays already! <3

Gull Meadows

This weekend was exciting. Josh came to see me Friday night after he had a reception at the Frauenthal Theatre because he has some artwork that's going to be up there for a while. I was so excited when he got here because it hasn't been a weekly thing anymore this year since I'm back and forth from Muskegon working and whatnot..
So we stayed in most of the weekend catching up and discussing things. We went to Crow's Nest Saturday morning for the first time in over a year (it's the place he took me when we had our very first breakfast together) and then we went to go see a movie at Rave Motion Picture (the best movie theater in the state, seriously!)

Today was amazing. I woke up, made Josh breakfast, and planned a trip to Gull Meadow Farms. It was the PERFECT Autumn day. Actually, it was hot out. The colors were perfect and I loved every minute of it.

(Josh on the wagon ride)

We took a wagon ride to this huge corn maze that was shaped as the state of Michigan. We went through several rows of apple trees, they were beautiful!

(This was the amazing corn maze we went through)

(My adorable boyfriend.)

(Getting lost.)

We wandered around a little bit, searching for all the different types of apples they had. We decided that since there were so many on the ground, that the farm wouldn't notice if we took a few apples for ourselves.

I had a fabulous weekend.
It's just now starting to thunderstorm here in Kalamazoo, a few hours after hearing about it hitting Muskegon. Hopefully this means I get some sleep tonight. I already have Spanish class in less than 8 hours. I need to get my sleep schedule back on track! Thank you, Melatonin.

Have a fabulous week! <3

Fall update

I'm officially moved into my new apartment in Kalamazoo. I have been since the end of August. I love it here. Living alone is really pretty awesome. I don't have anyone telling me to turn my music down, no one using the washer and dryer when I really need to do 7 loads of laundry, and no one using up all of my refrigerator space! Everything is all mine and I get to be selfish. =] It's my last year at Western so it's also the perfect way to stay focused and have my personal quiet time. It's really nice.

Here are some photos of what my studio looks like:

My cousin Maria got married to Adam on Saturday!
It's crazy that everyone on my dad's side of the family is marrying off already.
My cousin Andrea is next, marrying in July of 2010. It's a crazy couple of years with weddings.
I had to opportunity to film Maria's wedding, and I will be editing their video for them.

Classes started on Tuesday. So far, so good, I suppose. I'm taking mostly sociology classes to fulfill my minor, and it's pretty redundant. I'm also taking Spanish II because I need two semesters of foreign language.

Tonight my parents are coming into town because they are on vacation from work. We are going to the new casino in Battle Creek. I can't believe it's already the weekend!

The Schelhas Wedding

It's difficult for me to keep up on blogs.. but I'm trying!
On Saturday, July 11, my sister and Ray tied the knot! It was such a happy day, and I wish I could relive it all over again. I only cried once during the ceremony, and it was when my dad was walking her down the aisle. I thought for sure I was going to lose it throughout the mass, but I kept my composure because our new pastor is hilarious. ;]
The reception was a blast and everything looked gorgeous!

Crazy Summer

This summer is going to be so exhausting.

I already decided to drop my online class because it's just too much work for one short semester. So I'm taking History and Spanish. And I'm actually really enoying learning Spanish.

And I'm working at Buffalo Wild Wings again.

Ever since I started back it it's making me realize how much money I didn't make when I worked at Chili's in Portage. I make such better tips at Bdubs and the atmosphere is a lot more comfortable. It's good to be back.

I'm really looking forward to my sister's wedding in July. I can't believe how fast it's coming up!
I just finished the invitations for the Bachelorette Party.
This summer is seriously going to fly by with all of the things I also accomplish.

I'm signing my lease tomorrow for my studio in the Fall!
One more year, and then I graduate next summer! I can't wait to see all of my hard work pay off while I'm at commencement. =]

This is where I'm living next year:
